France-Italy Pilgrimage Tour
The France-Italy Pilgrimage is a complete tour.
From the heart of the Eternal city, Rome, where we will visit the 4 most important basilicas to the discovery of Turin, going through Assisi, the city of St Francois and Cascia, the city of St Rita, this tour offers various sceneries for a new pilgrimage.
We will commune with ourselves following the steps of the great saints like St Francois, St Claire d’Assisi, St Rita, St Padre Pio, and others.
We will continue the tour in France discovering in Paris the story of John Vianney,
the “Curé d’Ars” and in Lisieux a lot of sanctuaries that will accompany you all along your spiritual life.

Paris-Lisieux-Lourdes-Rome-Assisi-Cascia
Day 1
PARIS
Arrival in the morning, at Roissy or Orly airports and Welcome by our representative - Transfer to your hotel – Lunch – In the afternoon, basilica of the Sacred Heart. Mass celebration

Day 2
PARIS
Around 9:00 am, departure for the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal where the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Catherine in 1830 and offered to the world a Miraculous Medal.
Morning mass in the Chapel
After the mass and the visit of the Bac Street, we will go on foot towards the Lazarist Chapel, located in Sevres Street, where the body of St-Vincent-de-Paul is resting.
Lunch
In the afternoon: Paris guided tour and panoramic tour including Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, the Opera, the Louvre and a visit of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Optional: boat cruise visit on La Seine

Day 3
PARIS – LISIEUX
After breakfast, we will take a bus to go to Lisieux (230 km) in the heart of the Normandy where we will attend the Mass in the Basilica St Therese.
Lunch
In the afternoon, we will follow the steps of St Therese, canonized in 1925.
We will see where she lived and we will study her message of trust and love, a message for our time.
Then, we will visit the Cathedral St Peter, symbol of the city’s prestigious past, before going back to Paris. From Paris, we will go to Lourdes by car-sleeper train or bus.
Day 4
LOURDES
Early in the morning, arrival in Lourdes, transfer to the hotel, free morning and lunch.
In the afternoon: Lourdes’ guided tour on foot
We will follow St Bernadette Saubirous’ steps: the house where she was born, the dungeon that was used as a jail where Bernadette lived during the Appearances, the Chapel where she received the First Communion and the Church of her baptism.
We will then participate to the Eucharist Procession and to the Ill Persons Benediction at the Sanctuaries.

Day 5
LOURDES
Free morning to go to the pools, the grotto – Mass in the Grotto
Lunch
In the afternoon: trip to Bartres
Visit: Bernadette’s nurse house

Day 6
LOURDES – PARIS
Free day if you want to pray or visit Lourdes
At the heart of the site of the sanctuaries, there is the Grotto of Massabielle and the Basilica of Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire, both overlooked by the Basilica of our Lady of the Immaculate Conception
Lunch
We will then participate to the Eucharist Procession and to the Ill Persons Benediction at the Sanctuaries.
According to your tour and transportation choices, the next destination will be either Paris or Rome.
Day 7
PARIS / ROME
Arrival in Rome
Transfer to your hotel or the religious institution
Free time before lunch (according to your arrival time) – Lunch
In the afternoon: St. John Lateran Arch basilica, first sanctuary dedicated to the Christ by Constantine, the Christian Emperor – then Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls
Dinner and night at the hotel or religious institution
Day 8
ROME
Start of the pilgrimage ad limina Apostolorum (until the threshold of the tombs of the apostle Peter and Paul)
Morning dedicated to visiting Basilica St Peter (mass if possible).
Self-service lunch at the Janiculum restaurant next to the Vatican
Free time for shopping in Vatican’s city (the bus will wait for the pilgrims at the Janiculum parking lot until 6 pm)
Short tour of the ancient Rome: The Coliseum, the Forum and the Pantheon
Dinner and night at the hotel or at the religious institution
Day 9
ROME
Early in the morning, departure for the Papal audience at the Vatican or visit of Ancient Rome
Very important: In order to participate to the Papal audience, it is imperative that the 9th day is on a Wednesday.
Afternoon
Visit: Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and the Catacombs of San Sebastiano
Dinner and night at the hotel or at the religious institution
Day 10
ASSISI
Early in the morning, departure for the trip in Assisi (170 km)
Assisi is the homeland of St Francois; founder of the Franciscans religious order, and of St Clare her successor, who founded the Poor Clares
Tour of the Cathedral San Rufino where St Francois and St Clare were baptized
It is in Chiesa Nuova neighborhood that St Francois was born and raised.
Tour of the two sanctuaries remembering this time of his life: San Francesco Picolo and Chiesa Nuova.
Lunch
In the afternoon: Tour of Basilica of Santa Chiara, built at the location of a church dedicated to St Georges and where is located the crucifix that talked to St Francois.
Then: Basilicas St Francois: the upper church and its murals of Giotto and Cimabue, the lower church, the cloister and the tomb. Tour of the house of the father’s saint

Day 11
ASSISI – CASCIA
Early in the morning, tour of the Basilica of St Mary of Angels where is located Porziuncola, small chapel restored by St Francois, and the Chapel of the Transito, the cell in which St. Francis died. Discovery of the Monastery St Damien where St Francois composed the Sun Canticle
Departure for Cascia (80 km)
Lunch on the way or in Cascia
Tour of the great sanctuary of St Rita and the house where she was born
Dinner and night at the hotel or at the religious institution in Cascia
